Seattle New Years Eve Fireworks, Washington

The main Seattle New Years Eve fireworks display is among the most spectacular in the country. As such, it has little trouble attracting people, in which case any out of towners who are looking to enjoy it will want to book their hotels well in advance. Seattle New Years Eve packages are available if you need help planning your end of the year visit, and you'll likely be glad to know that the main fireworks display doesn't cost anything to enjoy.

The Space Needle New Years Eve fireworks celebration is arguably the best celebration of its kind on the West Coast. The event started back in 1982, and it didn't take long for it to catch on. Tens of thousands of people gather at the bottom of the 650-foot Space Needle to watch the glorious Seattle New Years Eve fireworks set off from the top of the Needle. In many ways, New Years Eve in Seattle is akin to the Times Square atmosphere in New York city.

To view the fireworks, you can go to Seattle Center, or enjoy the view from many places around town. Should you wish to take in the 2011 Space Needle New Years fireworks display from a different vantage point, there are some good options to choose from. You can try to secure tickets for the New Years party on the structure's Observation Deck for starters. You can also find a good viewing spot in one of the surrounding neighborhoods as the Space Needle can be seen from many areas around town or just outside of Seattle Center. Thousands upon thousands take this latter approach, partly because of the convenience factor. As for those who manage to get their hands on tickets for the Observation Deck party, a multi-course dinner is included in the price, and you can dance the night away before the fireworks go off.
